I want to make A payment on my account, and out of nowhere I get a message saying that they are having issues with their credit system or something which is very frustrating because they’re telling me I have to pay again but the money has already been taken out of my account which is frustrating. They said that the payment has been voided I’m pissed. Like refund me my money and then I will pay again once my money is refunded it’s not my fault y’all system is messed up. It already enough that it’s expensive as hell. But now when I go to put money towards my account when I only have a few days left magically messes up. I’m about to start looking for new electricity companies🙄
Response: Ms Baumann- - First let me apologize for any inconvenience. You are correct that Payless Power experience issues with our credit pard payment system on 5/9/24. The resulted in payments approved by the customer’s card company that could not be applied to the customer’s Payless Power account. Due to this we voided all affected payments which in effect, cancelled the payments with the card issuer. We also stopped disconnections until 5/13/24 due to this. If you are still experiencing delays with seeing your pending charge being released, please contact your bank or card company . Each bank has their own time schedule for the release of pending charges. Generally I’ve had good experiences with Payless Power, however their website server was down & not allowing me in to pay my bill. I got a disconnect notice so I called customer support to see what I could do about it & was told there wasn’t anything they would do since I should’ve called in to pay over the phone beforehand. So even though the website was down it is the customers fault for not paying sooner. Customer support rep was not sympathetic at all & had a crappy attitude.

I thing it’s a little pricey

Your KWH is in alignment with any other major competitor . There is a $2.00 daily customer fee and please note that you will receive a monthly credit on your bill if you consume under 500 KWH during the month. Incompetent staff. They left my old account number with an old address on my profile so now I am paying the bills to an apartment that I don’t live at. They confirmed my new address several times. They need to work on how to use a computer and programs properly. I do like the daily usage email. They are cheap, but so far we aren’t having a pleasant experience. Not to mention the fees to do any little thing on the account.
Response: Mr. Hamilton- I was able to review your records and based on your comments, it appears that enrolled for a new account but never moved in the residence. Still the account was active on the day you requested, and some small amounts of power was used there during the 4 days your account was active. There is also a daily customer fee that is applied each dan an account is open. However, we canceled the first account , waived the early termination fee and transferred your remaining balance to a subsequent account you created at the alternate address you ended up moving in to . As a pre-paid provider, Payless Power does have options for customers who find themselves in a tough spot. One is a same day account protection. We offer this when a customer’s balance falls below $0.00 . Please note that once used, it cannot be used again until the account balance is brought to a positive state. We also offer deferred payment plans with easy terms and instant approval. If you have one of these you may not add another unless you accrued a large balance coming out of a heat moratorium. You may apply for either of these options via the automated phone system or your customer portal. If these internal options are exhausted, we suggest that you contact 211 on your wireless phone for a list of utility assistance agencies in your area. Kwh cost is way too high..

Our rates are actually very competitive with all major competitors and please keep in mind that our rates are bundled… meaning that the Centerpoint delivery charges are incorporated into your rate and not separated to make your cost look cheaper than it really is. This is a common tactic with Electric providers but our plans are a little more straight forward. This company doesn’t mean any good I’ve been with them for months and for months my kids and I have suffered due to disconnections after overly paying time after time I have filed to the courts on this matter it’s rediculous and disheartening. The free nights from 9pm to 6am is a damn scam they will have you behind payments every week. Do NOT go here for electricity you will be sorry like me.

We do see that you have been with us since the spring and that you enrolled online . You are currently in good standing as a customer. There must be some confusion regarding free nights a weekends because Payless Power does not offer and has never offered that promotion.
